Personal Projects

security-watch

  • Stack: Go

A server monitoring service for Linux. It reads web server, auth, application and auditd logs, watches files, listening ports, processes and their outbound connections and the database, mirrors requests, sets traps and canary tokens, and matches injection signatures. What it notices is reported to a file, to Telegram, to an HTTP receiver or by e-mail, and the log can be shipped to another server. It changes nothing in the system until it is asked to.

Events are chained into incidents, actors are scored across sources, normal behaviour is learned so that noise is suppressed and thresholds can be derived from the server's own traffic; blocking and response actions are available but opt-in, and the service protects itself as well. A single Go executable with no external dependencies beyond the database drivers, configured by one file, installed as a systemd service and tied to no particular application: everything server-specific lives in the configuration.

Xsink

  • Stack: Go

A universal Redis Streams → PostgreSQL pipeline in Go with a configurable mapping: one program handles many kinds of data, because which stream to read and which table and columns to write it to is described in a mapping file, with no code changes. Several Redis sources feed one Postgres store; connections are made over mTLS and can go through a proxy list with failover. Parallel workers read each stream through consumer groups, convert fields by the declared SQL types and write one multi-row insert per batch with ON CONFLICT handling; tables can be created automatically from the mapping.

Reliability is explicit: at-least-once delivery, where a message leaves Redis only after it is durably stored in its table or in the dead-letter table; transient failures such as a network drop or an unavailable database keep the batch in Redis for a retry, while only genuinely broken data is dead-lettered; circuit breakers per source and for Postgres; exponential backoff with jitter; reclaim of messages stuck behind a crashed worker; graceful shutdown that drains and loses nothing.

Runs as a hardened systemd service with watchdog and journal logging, exposes an admin HTTP endpoint with metrics, rate-limits polling per source, cleans up dead letters by TTL and keeps secrets and the schema out of the repository.

node24-jmx25

GitHub · npm

  • Stack: JavaScript, Java

A Node.js client for reading and managing Java applications through JMX, targeting Node.js 24+ and the Java 25 toolchain. It runs a small Java sidecar and exchanges newline-delimited JSON with it over the child process's standard streams, while the sidecar speaks the standard JMX remote protocol (JSR-160, RMI by default) to the target. Nothing is deployed into the monitored JVM: it only needs an enabled JMX remote connector, which makes the package the right choice when the target deployment cannot be changed.

The API covers attribute reads and writes, batch attribute reads, MBean listing by pattern, domain and MBean counts, operation invocation with explicit signatures, and JMX notification subscriptions delivered as events. Every operation returns a Promise and still honours the historical callback form. Connections accept a host and port or a full JMX service URL with credentials, an optional local classpath for application-specific classes, per-request timeouts and a debug hook that receives every protocol message.

Java values are decoded carefully: longs outside the safe integer range keep their exactness, CompositeData and TabularData become typed wrappers and row arrays, Maps with string keys become plain objects, and Java errors surface with their class name and stack trace attached. The client guards against a misbehaving sidecar: stdout is reserved for the protocol, stderr is capped and attached to errors, and a flood of diagnostic output terminates the sidecar with all pending requests rejected.

Published on npm with the built sidecar JAR included, tested on every push through GitHub Actions, and benchmarked at about 14,000 requests per second with sub-millisecond p99 latency inside a container and roughly 23,000 requests per second natively. Credentials travel only through the local process pipe and never reach logs.

GeekProxy Checker

  • Stack: Go

A high-performance web service in Go for checking proxies, with multi-threaded bulk checks of whole lists and a clean web interface. Each proxy is tested for SOCKS5 and HTTP with automatic protocol detection when none is given, and UDP support is verified separately, which matters for SOCKS5 use.

Shadowsocks links are fully supported, both plain and SIP002 base64 forms, with ciphers such as AES-256-GCM and ChaCha20-IETF-Poly1305. IP intelligence adds country, city, ISP and the IP type, residential or hosting, to every result. The service listens on localhost only and is published behind an nginx reverse proxy with TLS; builds for Linux, macOS and Windows.

pictoggle

  • Stack: JavaScript

Image checkboxes that behave like a real <input type="checkbox">: any PNG, SVG, WebP, GIF or AVIF becomes a toggle, shown in full colour when checked and in grayscale, or any filter you choose, when not. One self-contained 30 KB file, zero runtime dependencies, no build step, usable from a module script tag or imported into React, Vue, Angular or Svelte.

The element is a form-associated custom element: FormData sees its value, required validation shows the native browser bubble, form.reset() and a disabled fieldset work, and back/forward navigation restores state; browsers without ElementInternals fall back to a hidden input. The API mirrors HTMLInputElement: checked, indeterminate, disabled, required, validity, labels, checkValidity and reportValidity. Label position and size are configurable, extra attributes stay on the host element, styling goes through custom properties and data attributes, and the package is tested in CI and published with a live demo.

flash-alerts

  • Stack: JavaScript

Zero-dependency browser alerts and toasts: about 9 KB minified and 2.8 KB gzipped, with no production dependencies and support for any browser that has Promise, requestAnimationFrame and matchMedia. Ships as UMD, CommonJS and ESM entries with TypeScript definitions, and can be loaded from a CDN with a single script tag.

Nine fixed screen positions from top-left to bottom-right, or mounting inside any DOM element by selector or reference. Six built-in effects (fade, slide from the nearest edge, scale, spring bounce, character-by-character typing and instant) and four presets (success, error, warning, info) that double as shortcut methods. Custom presets and custom effects are registered at runtime, instance defaults can be reconfigured in place, and every call returns a handle for programmatic dismissal with onShow and onHide lifecycle callbacks.

All visuals are inline styles with nine designed-for styling knobs and a clear priority order of defaults, preset and per-call overrides, so no external CSS is required. Accessibility is built in: each alert carries a role, an aria-live region and aria-atomic, the error preset interrupts screen readers with assertive priority, and prefers-reduced-motion is honoured by default by switching to instant transitions.

Covered by more than 70 unit tests on node:test with jsdom, minified with terser, published on npm with a live demo.

SSH Tunnel

  • Stack: Go (Fyne)

A desktop application for creating a TCP tunnel through an intermediate (jump) SSH server: the jump server reaches the target host and port, and local applications connect to a local port bound to 127.0.0.1 only, never exposed to the local network. Written in Go with Fyne for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows x64 and Linux x64.

Authentication by password, private key (including encrypted keys with a passphrase) or ssh-agent. Before a tunnel is started, a connection check verifies jump-server reachability, SSH authentication, the host key, target reachability through the jump server and local-port availability. Host keys are verified against the application's own known_hosts file and ~/.ssh/known_hosts: a new key requires confirmation, a changed saved key is rejected, and the user's file is never modified.

Connection profiles keep the non-secret settings; passwords and passphrases are never written to profile files and, if remembered, go to the operating system credential store. Keepalive, connection-loss detection and optional automatic reconnect keep the local listener open while the SSH link is retried. An in-window log with status and connection counters, copy, export and clear; English and Ukrainian interface; optional startup at login with a default profile and automatic connection. Built with static analysis and race-detector tests.

vantable

  • Stack: JavaScript

A zero-dependency vanilla-JS data table for dashboards: no jQuery, no Bootstrap, multiple independent instances per page, loaded from npm or a CDN. Search, sort and pagination run either on the client or on the server through a fetch callback. Thirteen column types cover text, numbers, links, copy buttons, status badges, selects and tags, images, textareas, downloads, custom HTML and row actions.

Rows can be edited inline with a save callback, expanded into accordion details, selected with bulk actions, and removed through a built-in confirmation dialog. Columns can be picked, reordered and filtered one by one. Export to CSV, XLSX and PDF through pluggable adapters. Large sets use virtualization that renders only the rows in view; narrow screens switch to a card layout. Loading, error and skeleton states, grid keyboard navigation with ARIA attributes, translatable labels, theming through CSS variables with dark and light modes, TypeScript types and wrappers for React, Vue, Angular and Svelte.

image-drop-upload

  • Stack: JavaScript

An image drop zone with previews: a dependency-free front-end widget (16 KB of JS and 2 KB of CSS gzipped) and a framework-free Node upload handler. Files arrive by drag and drop, the file picker, pasting or the camera; each one appears as a thumbnail drawn from its own bytes, with name and size, decoded one at a time so a large selection shows its first picture at once. The queue can be reordered, and limits apply per file, per queue, per file count and per decoded pixels, so a tiny PNG declaring a huge canvas cannot exhaust memory.

Without an endpoint it is just a form field and the files ride along with the form. Given an endpoint it uploads on its own, with progress bars, a working cancel button, retries only for connection failures, and mass uploads that survive an interruption. The server half is a single request handler that mounts in Express, AdonisJS, Fastify, Nest or bare node:http with a multipart parser as its only dependency: it validates files by their leading bytes rather than their names, refuses unsafe names instead of repairing them, writes each upload atomically and rejects cross-origin posts.

Optional blocks switch on only when configured: shrinking pictures on the page before they are sent (resize to a box, re-encode at a chosen quality or strip metadata losslessly), per-session folders with an owner on every answer, malware screening through a hash lookup or a scanner of your own where only the hash leaves the server, and server-side upload speed limits. Five languages, light and dark themes with every colour as a CSS variable.

bookmark-file-manager

  • Stack: JavaScript

An embeddable file manager: a dependency-free front-end widget and a framework-free Node handler over a real filesystem. The back end is a single request handler that mounts in Express, AdonisJS, Fastify, Nest or bare node:http, confines the client to one root directory, enforces operation permissions on the server side and exposes an authorize hook and a REST API. The widget mounts into any DOM element and works with any front-end framework or none.

Beyond the eight basic operations it offers a lazily loaded folder tree, tiles and table views, drag and drop including uploads from the OS, keyboard navigation, image thumbnails and a viewer for images and PDF, packing and unpacking of 13 archive formats with safe extraction, search across the tree by masks, regular expressions and file contents in a worker thread, a built-in terminal with its own commands, editors for spreadsheets (csv, xlsx, xls, ods), documents (docx, odt, doc) and code with highlighting, PDF page operations, five interface languages, light and dark themes and respect for prefers-reduced-motion.

TorGhost for macOS

  • Stack: Go, Shell

An anonymization tool for macOS that redirects all internet traffic through the Tor SOCKS5 proxy. DNS requests are routed through Tor as well, so no DNS leak reveals the real network, and unsafe packets leaving the system, such as ping requests that can expose identity, are blocked.

A macOS port of the TorGhost idea in Go with a shell layer, built separately for Apple Silicon and Intel. It relies on the Tor daemon installed through Homebrew and is driven from the command line: start, stop, request a new exit node, check for updates. A one-line curl through the local SOCKS5 port confirms that the visible IP address belongs to the Tor network.

Angular+NodeJS

  • Title: SmartCloudControl
  • Stack: Java, TypeScript, JavaScript
  • Frameworks: Spring, Angular, Express, AdonisJS, ElectronJS
  • Data Transfer Technologies: JMX, SNMP, ICMP, REST API:
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse
  • Third-party Software: VMware vSphere, ESXi, SevOne SBND, Keycloak, Kubernetes, PM2, SmartControl
  • My role in the Project: Team Lead, Frontend Developer, UX/UI Designer

Project Description:

SmartCloudControl is a cloud infrastructure monitoring system developed for Rostelecom. Our team created a comprehensive suite of software tools designed to monitor the cloud infrastructure of virtual data centers.

We developed hypervisor programs, a state control system, and the overall software complex. SmartCloudControl serves as a unified center for monitoring and data processing.

SmartCloudControl allows adding users and roles, setting rules and triggers, notifying users, monitoring the state of all system components, generating reports, creating events and triggers, and adding various types of hypervisors and monitoring systems, including third-party solutions like vSphere, ESXi, and SBND. Additionally, SmartCloudControl integrates with the SmartControl system for data transmission.

SmartCloudControl enables the evaluation of individual VMs as well as third-party monitoring systems. For shared access with the SmartControl system, Keycloak can be used. SmartCloudControl also has its own authentication system for autonomous operation. Each client sees only the equipment assigned to them by the system administrator.

SmartCloudControl supports both personal and group monitoring and notification rule patterns. It also allows creating custom rules based on triggers or events.

The system supports events and third-party monitoring systems like SBND and vSphere, providing great flexibility.

For VM data collection, we developed the SC-Adapter. For data collection, management, and state control, our team developed the SC-Agent.

To parallelize client infrastructure, each SC-Agent can manage up to 2000 SC-Adapters. The SmartCloudControl system can add approximately 6000 SC-Agents (as tested).

The SmartCloudControl system is equipped with various charts, diagrams, and reports to enhance data accessibility.

The charts offer multiple types of views based on user needs.

All displayed data is structured into groups based on user needs and roles.

In the event of incidents, the system immediately notifies authorized personnel according to rule settings or can execute a script scenario.

SmartCloudControl maintains its own log file for incidents related to the performance of both individual components and the system as a whole.

GeekProxy More

  • Stack: TypeScript, JavaScript, Go
  • Frameworks: AdonisJS 6, Edge.js, Socket.IO, grammY
  • Databases: MariaDB
  • Role in the Project: FullStack Developer

Project Description: GeekProxy is a proxy-as-a-service platform: a public website, a customer area and an administrator panel built as a single AdonisJS application with server-rendered Edge templates, real-time updates over WebSocket and a REST API.

Customers choose shared, dedicated, flawless, residential (turbo and flex), mobile and ISP proxies by country or region, with HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 and Shadowsocks protocols. Pricing tiers include volume discounts and promo codes; orders are paid from the account balance or through a number of different payment gateways.

The customer area covers subscriptions with renewal and expiry notifications, invoices and balance history, account settings, a referral program, and a reseller program with its own API, rate plans, ledger and webhooks. A public customer API is documented with Swagger. The interface is multi-language, and a Telegram bot with a web app lets customers manage purchases from the messenger.

The administrator panel manages proxy packages (per-country collections, protocols, IP counts, pricing, discounts and translations), subscriptions, billings and balance operations, promo codes, resellers and users. It keeps an audit journal of all operations, runs a ban system (IP addresses, e-mail domains, whitelist, automatic rules), and includes a file manager, CMS-style content (pages, navigation, a blog with categories and tags), sitemap generation, export to Excel, CSV and print, and much more.

New proxy servers are provisioned fully automatically: the panel installs and configures all required software on a fresh server and from then on manages it end to end. Proxy servers and IP pools are managed from the same panel: server inventory, IP slot allocation (shared, private, free), live server metrics (CPU, memory, disk, load, IOPS) with charts, rules and actions, system health checks and network tools. Scheduled jobs handle expiring subscriptions, unfinished purchases, webhook delivery, API callback retries, funds reconciliation and data cleanup. Anti-abuse protections include rate limiting, bans and CAPTCHA.

Beyond the web application, the platform includes a set of standalone services written in Go:

  • Proxy node service — an agent installed on every proxy server from the admin panel. It runs HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 and Shadowsocks proxy instances, applies per-package limits, reports traffic statistics back to the platform, exposes a control API and carries network tools such as bandwidth measurement.
  • Metrics agent — a lightweight monitoring agent that collects CPU, memory, disk and network metrics and pushes them to the platform over HTTP, so no inbound ports are needed; token-based authentication, remote configuration and per-metric toggling. It feeds the server monitoring dashboards in the admin panel.
  • Proxy checker — bulk checking of proxy lists: SOCKS5, HTTP and Shadowsocks, UDP support verification, protocol auto-detection and IP intelligence (country, city, ISP, residential vs. hosting).
  • Whois / leak tester — shows the visitor's real IP address, geolocation, provider and ASN, reverse DNS and the provider's website.
  • Port scanner — a self-check of the visitor's own IP only: a curated list of important ports with their status, or a full scan returning the open ports, with service names and light banner detection.
  • DNSBL checker — checks an IP against reputable public spam blacklists in parallel and reports where it is listed.

The checkers and the whois tool are embedded into the website's tools section.
